New Tenant at the Blue Bell
A very warm welcome to Jim MacDonald, who is our new tenant at the Blue Bell.
Some of you will already know Jim and Julie as they run the Star & Garter in East Dean. They will now be taking on the Blue Bell as a second pub, and we are delighted to welcome them to the village.
Some improvements are planned, ready for a relaunch party on Thursday 10th September.
Blue Bell closed until September 4th.

About us
In the heart of Cocking village, just below the South Downs Way, the Blue Bell is a community-owned pub, proudly saved from closure by local residents. We serve homemade food, a range of real ales, quality wines, and excellent coffee in a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Inside, you’ll find a small village shop stocking everyday essentials and freshly baked bread and pastries made on-site, and we offer on-site cycle repair facilities for walkers and cyclists. The pub features three comfortable en-suite B&B rooms, a sunny garden with views over the South Downs, plenty of outdoor space where dogs are welcome, and a convenient laundry service for our guests.

A Good Night’s Rest
The Blue Bell offers three comfortable rooms for your overnight stay. We have two twin rooms and one double room, all with en-suite facilities and walk-in showers. Each room provides a cosy and relaxing space to unwind after a day of exploring the local area.
To help you get on your way quickly in the morning, we provide a convenient breakfast-to-go bag featuring a selection of breakfast items, perfect for enjoying in your room or taking with you on your travels.

At The Blue Bell, we’re all about quality, home-cooked pub food that fills you up and hits the spot after a good walk or a day out exploring. Whether you’re popping in for lunch or dinner or even if you’re just passing through you’ll find proper flavours and a friendly welcome waiting for you.
We’re now serving our new summer menu, packed with fresh, seasonal dishes. Plus, enjoy a great selection of beers, ales, and spirits, perfect for relaxing and raising a glass after a busy day.
